There are two wooden arch bridges in hongqiao type which are known as "Sister Bridge" located in Zhejiang Sixi Town, and they are also known as "Apprentice Bridge". "Xidong qiao" was built in the Longqing Year of Ming Dynasty and we can see the red walls and green watts from a distance. Compared with the surrounding residential buildings, it is more prominent. All the banisters on both sides of the bridge are lined with thin wooden boards to keep out the rain. There is another bridge call "North Stream Bridge" not far from it. The "North Stream Bridge" was built during the Qing Dynasty. The roof of the bridge is covered with a heavy eaves to make it look more beautiful.

"North Stream Bridge" is called “Xia Bridge” by the people and it is in Sixi Xiaqiao Village. The Xia Bridge is more than 1 km away from Shang Bridge and it is across the north creek. So it is called "North Stream Bridge" and the village is named after the bridge. Its structure and modelling are similar to the Shang Bridge but much larger. It is 51.87 meters long, 5.37 meters wide and 11.22 meters high. The single span width of it is 29 meters. It is also a wood arcade bridge with 20 bridge houses. It is said that Sixi Shang Bridge and Xia Bridge were firstly built by the apprentice from the same division in the 13th year of Kangxi Years of Qing Dynasty (1671), so they are called the “Sixi Apprentice Bridge” and “Sixi Sister Bridge.They were rebuilt in the 8th year of Jiaqing Years(1803). The structure of the two Bridges is exquisite and the modelling is very primitive. It is a typical wooden arch bridge in the history of bridge architecture in China. Not only from building materials or for the choice of the structure of the bridge, or the combination of Bridges and buildings, the combination of human landscape and natural landscape, "North Stream Bridge" is an outstanding example which fully embodies the Chinese traditional architectural space concept and the environmental concept.

In terms of modelling, Xidong Bridge is the best wooden arch bridge of Taishun. The Xidong Bridge is a part of Shangqiao which is located in Xidong Village of Sixi Town, so it is called Xidong Bridge, actually it should be called Dongxi Bridge. It is named because of going across the east river. It is 41.7 meters long, 4.86 meters wide and 10.35 meters high (from water surface to the spanning top), and the spanning single hole is 25.7 meters in the palace style with the flying eaves, There are main eaves attic in the center and it is extremely magnificent and beautiful.
